Thank you so much for registering your child to play cricket at our wonderful club.
We have a long history of excellence and inclusiveness, and we just want to see heaps of kids having wholesome fun playing cricket.
There is nothing better than seeing them outdoors, off devices and breathing in fresh air, and I love sitting on the boundary watching kids play cricket.
The season commences this Saturday 19 October 2024 for the Blast comp, as well as the U10 and U11 junior cricket comps.
Sunday the 20th is the start of our U13 and U15’s season, and we are hoping for a season filled with fair and competitive cricket.
Blast skills with coach David Bellinger commenced on Tuesday the 8th. All Blast registrants (not just skills) are welcome to attend (Heffron Park at 4.30-5.15).
Just some house-keeping - you may have heard from your team managers about shirts.
We are going to keep the same shirt design as last year. This decision was made so the club can be more environmentally friendly, and to use our budget on getting more members to the club, improving skills through paying for coaches and for logistics purposes. This means that if your child’s shirt still fits from last season (and isn’t completely soiled and destroyed) they can use it for this season.
If it no longer fits, please bring it along this weekend to your team manager, and we can swap it for a size that fits.
Fixtures for Junior Cricket were published on Friday.
We also did a massive stock take today (thank you to Ed, Bronwyn, Mick, Natasha and Gabrielle for the help) at our storage unit, and we have lots of extra kit like pads, gloves and helmets. If you would like to have some kit loaned to you for the season, please be in contact with me, and I will arrange to get it to you.
If you haven’t already, check out our fantastic new website, which will hopefully have a feed of the latest results.
Thanks again to Peter and Zac from Core Mortgage Brokers - they have been unbelievable supporters of Coastal over the years, so please support them should you need finance.
Lastly, I will be away this weekend, but I will be there in spirit shouting the whole club on, so best of luck to your kids.
Kind regards
Greg Sher
