Spring season update

We are almost through the Spring Season, and what a great season it has been so far.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches, managers, scorers and parents for the excellent season so far. We are a small but welcoming club that just wants to promote inclusion and giving things a go. Saying that, please help us - we want more girls coming through and playing cricket - they can play mixed in the early stages, so instead of them watching their brothers, get their brothers to play with them!

Team and player shout outs:

Special mention to the U15 Stingers Team - coached by Jason Puddick. They have 3 players in the the SEJCA rep team (Jeremy - U17, Pamu and Harry - U14) and have been playing 2-3 players short the whole season. This means the opposition score runs more easily as there are more gaps in the field.

Despite this, all of their loses have been incredibly close, and they have a victory to their name too. They are awaiting the return of the rep players for the summer.

Congratulations to:

James P - currently 1st in the league (184 runs @ 61.33) - top score 58.

Billy S - in 6th place (123 runs @ 30.75).

Billy tops the bowling (8 wickets @ 11.88) - best bowling 4-7 across the league.

The U11 Manta Rays are at the top of their league and are undefeated so far.

Special mentions:

Daniel B - who took 5 -7 last week and tops the bowling (9 wickets @ 3.33) in the league.

Zac S - in 3rd (8 wickets @ 6.38)

Zac C - in 4th (also with 8 wickets @ 6.38!).

Zac S tops the batting (133 runs) and hit his top score of 41 off 20 balls recently.

Daniel B - 2nd (123 runs).

Liam M, Ryder B (U11 Seals) are both in the top 10 in the U11 leader board too, so well done.

Our U13 Stingrays are also undefeated and on track for a grand final.

Exemplary performances:

1st - Charlie D (185 runs @ 185) with a top score of 86.

3rd - James D (93 runs @ 93)

4th - Zac M (93 runs @ 46.5)

5th - Sam F (92 runs @ 46)

6th - Jack E (90 runs @ 30)

7th - Louis K (88 runs, no average as he hasn’t been dismissed).

Sam F, Jack E, Zac M and James D are all in the top 10 for bowling.

Our U10 Whales are joint top of the table and have lost only one game.

Albin B (76 runs) and Daniel W (61) are in 5th and 6th respectively in the top table.

Richie H (3rd - 9 @ 5.33), Daniel W (5th - 6 @ 3.33) and Albin B (10th - 5 @ 8.8) are in the top 10 for bowling.

U9 Marlins have won a few, but are learning lessons every day.

Congrats to all teams (even if you haven’t been mentioned above). We as a club are very proud of your achievements - while winning is nice it isn’t everything, what is more important is how the cricketers are playing the game).

If you haven’t already, check out our fantastic new website, which has a feed of the latest results.

Also, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates and news.

Again, not much of what we do could be achieved without the financial support of Peter and Zac from Core Mortgage Brokers - they have been unbelievable supporters of Coastal over the years, so please support them should you need finance.

Lastly, holiday camp info posted below.

Both Pro Performance and Australian Sports Camps have been very supportive of our club.

Kind regards

Greg Sher
